Dolcissimo is a ten person vocal ensemble, initially founded in 2006 as a small ensemble of the larger choir, Dolce, under the musical direction of Deirdre Nà Chaomhánaigh. For four years, this a cappella group sang in various concerts, festivals and indoor and outdoor events in the greater Dublin area, as well as in the Sligo and Derry Choral Festivals. The group broke up in 2009 and reformed in September 2019 with three of the original group.
They sing a mixture of secular and sacred music, and songs include ‘Moon River’, ‘Bring me Sunshine’, ‘Bring Him Home’, ‘Loch Lomond’, Taverner’s ‘The Lamb’ and Bruckner’s ‘Locus Iste’.
Dolcissimo won the Chamber Choir Competition in New Ross in 2023 and 2024 .They were placed 2nd in the Scared Music Competiton in 2023 and highly commended in 2024.
